Meet Iris Cochran
Founder, Owner & Director of Just Dance LLC
For Iris Cochran, dance has never simply been something she does — it has been a part of who she is for as long as she can remember.
Iris began dancing at just three years old, and what started as a childhood love grew into a lifelong passion for movement, music, teaching, and the performing arts. After years of dreaming about creating a dance company of her own, Iris founded Just Dance LLC with one simple belief at its heart:
Every dancer deserves a place where they can magically shine their light. ✨
Iris holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication with a minor in Dance from Georgia College & State University. She has been teaching young dancers since 2011 and has spent years working with children, particularly young dancers in their earliest stages of learning and development.
Throughout her career, Iris has also gained extensive experience in dance business management, having managed a dance business for approximately eight years. This experience gave her a unique understanding of not only what happens inside the dance classroom, but also what it takes to create an organized, professional, family-centered dance program that schools can confidently partner with.
Her love of dance has taken her far beyond the classroom. Iris has had opportunities to dance and perform in places around the world, including Australia, Ethiopia, New Zealand, New York, and France. These experiences have deepened her appreciation for the way dance can connect people, cultures, communities, and generations.
But some of Iris’s favorite moments happen much closer to home — watching a little dancer discover that they can do something they once thought they couldn’t.

A Different Kind of Dance Experience
Iris created Just Dance LLC to be more than simply a weekly dance class.
She envisioned a program where children can experience the joy of dance while also developing confidence, coordination, creativity, listening skills, classroom readiness, respect, responsibility, and positive self-expression.
Her teaching philosophy is rooted in fun, love, grace, encouragement, and respect. Iris believes children learn best when they feel safe, supported, celebrated, and genuinely cared for.

Iris uses a multi-sensory approach to dance instruction, recognizing that young children benefit from experiencing new concepts in multiple ways.
A new movement may be demonstrated visually, explained verbally, connected to music and rhythm, practiced through repetition, and reinforced through active movement and participation.
Through this approach, dancers have multiple opportunities to understand, remember, and confidently apply what they are learning—while having fun along the way!
Every dancer is different. Every child learns differently. And every child deserves the opportunity to be seen.
Through Just Dance LLC, Iris strives to create a nurturing environment where dancers are encouraged to try, make mistakes, celebrate progress, and discover what makes them uniquely wonderful.
Her Heart Behind Just Dance
Iris believes that dance can leave a lasting impression on a child’s life.
The goal isn’t simply to teach a plié or a tap combination.
It’s to help a child stand a little taller.
To listen a little more carefully.
To believe in themselves a little more.
To learn how to be part of a team.
To experience the excitement of performing.
And, most importantly, to create beautiful childhood memories that they will carry with them long after the music stops.
Just Dance LLC was created from a lifetime of dancing, teaching, learning, growing, and dreaming — and Iris is honored to share that love of dance with every child who walks into her classroom.
